Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Oh, how I love this wonderful album, which I've picked from Alan Benjamin's wishlist... I admit being a die-hard fan of the early "Focus" works, with "Moving Waves" from 1971 being my favorite. "Eruption" is one of the timeless 70's epics I'm still listening to every now and then. Composer Steffen Staugaard quite authentically captures the idiosyncratic way Thijs van Leer was writing his classically inspired songs, pleasantly emulating his typical melody twists and chord progressions, and Neil Gowland perfectly recreates the exciting weeping guitar sound of Jan Akkerman, which became formative for Dutch symphonic rock since the 70's until today. Favorite track: Kingmakers Parade.
